Oprah Visited the Bank for the First Time Since 1988 (and Deposited $2 Million)
In her free time, Oprah Winfrey enjoys depositing $2 million at the bank...because she can.
Oprah appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’s new YouTube show, Ellen’s Show Me More Show, on Tuesday, October 10, and participated in a “Burning Questions” segment that resulted in the media mogul telling a hilarious story about her first visit to the bank since 1988. Oh, and one of her favorite comfort foods is “cheeeeeeese.”
It all began when DeGeneres asked Oprah if she knew her own ATM PIN. Oprah admitted that she didn’t (can’t blame her) and went on to describe a once-in-a-lifetime (for her) banking adventure, saying, “I went to the bank recently, because I hadn’t been to the bank since 1988.” DeGeneres responded with a totally valid question, asking, “What did you go to the bank for?” To which Oprah responded, “To deposit a million dollars.” Casual.
Oh, and her reasoning for the impromptu trip to the bank is about as Oprah as it gets. She continued, “Yeah, I just wanted to go there just to do it. I stood in line, just to do it.”
But despite the long teller lines and unnecessary banking slips, Oprah said the visit “felt fantastic” and then added, “Actually, it was $2 million,” with a chuckle.
When you’re Oprah Winfrey, every errand is an adventure.
